A Midnight Excursion

The assignment: Create a sequence of pictograms and ideograms to tell a short story

From top left to bottom right

1.     It was almost midnight on a cold and windy night

2.     We suddenly realised that we needed apples for the next day’s breakfast

3.     Peter and I volunteered to head to the nearby night market to purchase some

4.     Quickly, we found a fruit store

5.     I explained to the lady that we wanted to buy 20 apples

6.     She took a long time to carefully pick the 20 apples and place them neatly in a bag

7.     Then, she weighed the apples

8.     The total cost is $80. $80 for 20 apples?? That’s too overpriced!!

9.     Anyway, we don’t have enough money with us!

10. My mind starts running wild as I wonder what will happen if she gets upset with us for changing our minds.

11. We don’t have a choice. We tell her that we can’t buy the apples.

12.  We run back home as quickly as we can!
