Advertisement Analysis: Good 6/15 [AIMI Flowers]

Pros:

  • The style of the ad is elegant, yet interesting and slightly humorous. These are adjectives that I'm sure a florist would want to be associated with.
  • The play on the phrase "let your actions do the talking", amended here to "let the flowers do the talking" is well backed up by the picture.
  • While the copywriting and message of the ad is simple, it achieves two purposes. Firstly, it encourages people to buy flowers and "let them do the talking". Secondly, it implies that this company does a better job at it.
  • Dull colours are used, except for the red of the flowers. This leads your eye to focus on the words that the flowers form.

Cons:

  • I wish the words on the bouquet could be a little more legible

Overall:

I think this ad has a universally pleasing design. Who doesn't love flowers? Elements that might distract from the ad's message such as the head of the man holding the flowers have been omitted.

I love how it communicates so much by saying so little. Simply the words that the flowers form on the bouquet communicates that you should buy flowers when you propose...either that or you should buy your special someone flowers so that she knows she has chosen the right guy. In that way, I think this ad is especially effective. Even with it's "girly", flowery design, it motivates guys to buy flowers.
